Having a basic informative web site for your business is a great first step to a profitable site. Your site will move into high gear though the use of a dynamic web application. A web application in its simplest form is a way that allows users to interact with your web site while allowing you to directly manage your site.

For an example of a web application, take a basic dealer/distributor list that you might already have on your site. All it is is a web page with a long list of your many dealers that sell your product. When a visitor comes to this page, they must look through all the entries and hopefully find a dealer that is close to them. Having a web application would allow you to have a password protected page that only you can use. This page has the functionality to let you add new dealers, change dealer information, and let you delete dealers. Now you can use a web browser anywhere in the world to easily update your web site yourself.
